Terms & Conditions
Last updated August 2026. Questions? Email [email protected].
These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Medicine in Practice (“we”, “us”, “our”), which operates Medicine in Practice (the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing, or using the Service you confirm you have read, understood and agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Important: please read. Medicine in Practice is a training simulation for your own professional development only. It is not clinical advice and must not be used or relied upon in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment or care of any real patient. You remain fully and solely responsible for your own practice and clinical decisions, and you must always verify against the current BNF, NICE, MHRA, the SmPC and your own organisation’s clinical governance. By creating an account or purchasing, you confirm you understand and accept this.
1. What the Service is, and is not
Medicine in Practice is an educational training and practice simulation for pharmacy professionals and trainees. It is provided for learning and continuing professional development (CPD) practice only. It is not:
- clinical, medical, legal or professional advice, or a clinical decision-support tool;
- to be used, or relied upon, in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment or care of any real patient;
- a regulated or accredited qualification, or a substitute for statutory, employer or regulator-required training or supervision.
We are an independent training provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), NHS England, NICE, or any regulator or official body unless we state so in writing. Certificates evidence only the competencies you demonstrated within this programme; they are not a professional qualification or a guarantee of competence in practice.
2. No guarantee of accuracy, currency or completeness
Clinical guidance, law, drug information, formularies and best practice change frequently, and any part of the content may become out of date, incomplete or incorrect at any time. You acknowledge and agree that:
- the content is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we give no warranty, representation or guarantee of any kind (express or implied) that it is accurate, current, complete, error-free, or fit for any clinical, professional or other particular purpose;
- we do not warrant that the content is exhaustively current, correct or complete for clinical use, and (except for any update service we expressly sell for a paid period, see clause 2a) we are not otherwise obliged to keep every part of the content up to date;
- you must always verify any information against current authoritative sources (including the BNF, NICE, MHRA, SPS, the current SmPC, GPhC standards and your own organisation’s policies and clinical governance) and apply your own professional judgement before relying on anything from the Service;
- you are a registered/qualified professional (or a trainee working under appropriate supervision) and you alone are responsible for any decision or action you take, and you must never apply anything from the Service to a real patient without appropriate professional judgement, supervision and verification.
2a. Content updates for products sold with them
Some products are sold with content updates for a stated paid period: currently the Annual Membership, the Core Pathway, the PCN site licence and the Complete Professional Programme. For those products, during that paid period we will add or refresh content and push safety-alert corrections as part of what you paid for. This update commitment does not change clause 2: it does not warrant that the content is exhaustively current or correct for clinical use, and you must still verify against the BNF, NICE, MHRA, SPS, the current SmPC and your own organisation’s policies before relying on anything. One-off products without a stated update period are provided as they are at the time of purchase.
2b. SOP and document templates
Where the Service generates a standard operating procedure (SOP), letter or other document template, it is an editable template only, not an approved, ready-to-use or compliance-guaranteeing document. The adopting individual or organisation must localise it, risk-assess it and approve it under its own clinical governance, and becomes responsible for the final document and its use. Clause 2 (no warranty of accuracy or currency) and clause 7 (limitation of liability) apply to these templates.
3. Your account & acceptable use
- You must be at least 18 and use the Service for your own professional development. The interactive clinical training is for GPhC-registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians: provide your GPhC registration number to access it; accounts without one get an overview-only view of the courses. The Service is not for children or for members of the public seeking health advice.
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Access is personal to you (or, for organisation licences, to the individual named seat holder). You must not share, transfer, sell or sub-license your login or access, or allow anyone else to use it.
- Do not enter real patient-identifiable or other confidential information into the Service.
- Do not misuse the Service, including attempting to bypass access controls or payment, disrupt or probe its security, or use it unlawfully.
4. Intellectual property & licence
All content, materials, scenarios, code, branding and design in the Service are owned by Medicine in Practice or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. On payment (or on registering for any free access) we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content for your own training only, for as long as your access is valid.
You must not, in whole or in part: copy, reproduce, download (except automatic browser caching for normal use), record, screenshot for redistribution, scrape, harvest, republish, distribute, share, sell, rent, sub-license, or make the content available to any third party; use it to build, train or populate any competing product, dataset or AI model; or remove any proprietary notices. Automated or bulk access is prohibited. Breach of this clause is a material breach that causes us serious harm; we may terminate your access immediately without refund and pursue all available legal remedies, including injunctive relief.
5. Payment, access & renewals
Prices are shown in £ (GBP). Prices to consumers are inclusive of any VAT; Medicine in Practice is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added. Payment is processed by Stripe; access is granted on successful payment. One-off purchases (individual levels, the Core Pathway and other one-off products) give access for 12 months from purchase unless stated otherwise. Where you buy a limited allowance (e.g. a number of modules, labs or AI calls), access is limited to that allowance. Memberships/subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled: the Monthly Membership renews monthly and the Annual Membership renews annually; you can cancel any time from your Account and access continues to the end of the paid period. Before each renewal we will send a reminder to your account email showing the renewal date and amount, and cancelling online from your Account takes only a few clicks and stops all future renewals.
6. Cancellation & refunds: digital content accessed immediately
The Service is digital content supplied electronically with immediate access. At checkout you expressly consent to supply beginning immediately and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day cancellation right (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) once you begin accessing the content. Accordingly, once you have accessed any part of the purchased content, your purchase is non-refundable. This includes (without limitation) change of mind, having already completed or consumed the content, no longer needing it, not using it, or your access being terminated for breach of these terms. Full details, and your remaining statutory rights if content is genuinely faulty or not as described, are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6a. Human-delivered clinical and mentoring services
Our 1:1 mentoring, mentoring pack, monthly clinical supervision and pharmacist prescribing-review services are services delivered by a person, not digital content, so the immediate-access/non-refundable rule in clause 6 does not apply to them. Instead:
- Express request to begin & proportionate refund. At checkout you expressly request that we begin providing the service. If you cancel within the 14-day cancellation period after some but not all sessions/months have been delivered, you are charged only for what has actually been supplied and refunded the balance; once a session or period has been fully delivered the cancellation right for that session/period is lost.
- Rescheduling & no-shows. You can reschedule a booked session with at least 48 hours’ notice at no charge. A session cancelled with less notice, or a no-show, is treated as delivered and is not refundable or re-credited.
- Session-credit validity. Pre-paid mentoring sessions (including the 4-pack) must be used within 12 months of purchase, after which unused credits expire.
- Mentor substitution. We may substitute an equivalently-qualified mentor or supervisor where necessary (e.g. illness), without changing what you have paid for.
- Monthly supervision. Monthly clinical supervision is a separately-delivered service each month, billed as a recurring subscription. Cancel any time from your Account; cancelling stops future months. A proportionate refund applies only to the current period if it has not yet started or been delivered: it is not a blanket no-refund, and it is a service rather than a content membership.
- Pharmacist prescribing reviews. The practice must approve the purpose, reviewer, cohort and information-governance access route before any real record is opened. The registrar must complete their own 50-item review. Our report contains de-identified totals, themes and actions; patient-identifiable information must not be uploaded to the learning platform. Cohort discounts apply only where the registrars are commissioned together within the same practice-approved clinical environment. If the agreed access or governance conditions cannot be put in place, we will not begin the clinical review and will arrange the appropriate cancellation or refund.
6b. Printed certificate (physical goods)
The printed certificate is a physical item personalised with your name and posted to the address you give us, so it is treated differently from digital content:
- Delivery. We aim to dispatch promptly; please allow up to 14 working days from ordering for delivery to a UK address. If we cannot meet that, we will contact you with the option of a revised date or a refund of the printed-certificate fee.
- Personalised item, no change-of-mind returns. Because each certificate is printed with your name and details, it is a personalised item and the usual 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply once printing has begun (regulation 28(1)(b)). You can cancel for a full refund any time before we start printing.
- Faulty, damaged or incorrect. Your Consumer Rights Act 2015 rights are unaffected: if your certificate arrives damaged, misprinted or with incorrect details that we introduced, tell us within 30 days and we will reprint and repost it free of charge or refund the fee - your choice.
- Address accuracy. Please check the delivery address you give us. If a certificate is returned or lost because the address you provided was wrong or incomplete, we may charge the printing/postage cost again to resend it.
- What it is. The printed certificate is a physical copy of the certificate you have already earned. It carries the same verification ID and confers no additional qualification or accreditation.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for your non-excludable rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we exclude all implied terms, warranties, conditions and representations relating to the content and the Service;
- we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, the content or certificates, including any clinical, professional, regulatory, employment or business decision, or any loss arising because content was out of date, inaccurate or incomplete;
- we are not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, data, or anticipated savings;
- we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, and we are not liable for downtime, data loss, or third-party services (e.g. Stripe, hosting, AI providers);
- our total aggregate liability to you for all claims connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
If you use the Service as a business or on behalf of an organisation (e.g. a PCN, practice or employer licence), you do so as a business customer: the consumer protections above do not apply to you, and you agree the broader exclusions and the liability cap in this clause, and that you accept the risk of relying on the content.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access, without refund, if you breach these terms (including the licence and acceptable-use rules), if payment fails or is reversed, or where we are required to by law. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time from your Account.
9. Changes
We may update the Service and these terms from time to time (for example to reflect changes in the law or our offering). The current version is always shown here with its “last updated” date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9a. Complaints
If you are unhappy with the Service or a purchase, please contact us first at [email protected] (or use the “ Report an issue” button in the app). We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 working days and to resolve them within 14 days. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. For data-protection concerns you can also contact the ICO, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute connected with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction (this does not remove any protection available to you as a consumer in your country of residence).
11. Who we are & how to contact us
